Avalon is an Italian-Australian rigger known for his sensual and attentive bondage. Involved in BDSM for over 20 years, he has been fascinated by the intrinsic beauty of Japanese Rope Bondage since seeing a Japanese bondage show in Paris in the late 80s. In his pursuit to improve his skills and knowledge in Japanese Rope Bondage he regularly travels to Japan to study, a student of many renown masters. Avalon has developed his own distinctive style, his floor-work is fluid and sensory, relying on triggers and sensitivities of his model to lull them into a forbidden world. His style keeps faith to traditional Japanese bondage where mind, edge and predicament play are key factors of the tying process.
Avalon is active within the Australian and Italian Japanese Rope Bondage Community, he is a one of the instructors at the Sydney Rope Dojo & has performed in numerous international rope events and regularly conducts Japanese rope workshops in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Darwin, New Zealand, Italy, Switzerland and the UK. Avalon performs with Jenna, his partner and rope model, she has a back ground in dance, yoga and personal development, this gives her the perfect core strength and mind set to endure and enjoy Avalon’s demanding ties. Jenna loves exploring edges and the intimate connection between two people through rope, where the world disappears and what is left is 2 beating hearts. Rope has been a vehicle for Jenna to let go and feel completely free to surrender into the moment with Avalon. Avalon’s rope is geared towards deep connection with one's partner and exploring all sensory aspects of sensual tying, Haruki Yukimura style, the ties are measured to the person being tied, they often include a little mind fucking, which is something that Avalon is particularly good at, with his partners! NOTES: Bring a yoga mat (or a similar) and a blanket to all classes. Feel free to bring your own rope, rope will also be available on loan for the workshops and on sale for those that would like to purchase their own. REQUIRED SKILL SET: “ The Freedom to Surrender” can be attended by curious beginners as well as advanced riggers with a focus on tying. "Sensual Rope" workshop will focus more on the art and exploration of connection and the subtleties of tying. May be more suited to the advanced rigger however, beginners are welcome to attend. PERFORMANCE FRIDAY EVENING Arrive in time on Friday afternoon to witness the magic that is Avalon and Jenna with a very special performance from 6:45 pm. WORKSHOPS AT CELEBRATING SEXUALITY Freedom to Surrender One of the beautiful aspects of Japanese bondage is the trust building element that allows a partner to fully enjoy the peace and space that occurs when they "let go" entirely, to allow their partner to take control and take them through a "journey". This is only achieved through a deep and connective path where the dominating partner takes full control and with awareness, guides their partner, this is not achieved through any form of violence, but with immense grace and love. The class will be suitable for beginners to advanced. It will include demonstration ties, then going through them repeating it together followed then by a practice session on the ties. After a break we will move to another tie, this keeps the workshops interesting, fun and varied with the necessary breaks for the models and riggers to have a rest between ties. Sensual Rope This workshop is not so much about technique but about why we are tying in the first place, looking at connectivity and methodology of tying, sensual rope is one of the most rewarding styles and one for which Avalon is known for. In this workshop we will look at rope style, flow, within detail with great attention placed on the partner, learn to read body language and introduce the various elements of tying into the sessions whilst learning how to tie safely. Learning how to have fun and enjoy rope with your partner from the beginning is what Avalon believes to be the right path to become a good and happy rigger.
